Container Shipping Unit passes ISO 9001: 2008 standard for Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management System.

Shipyard Unit receives ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001: 2004, & ISO 18001:2007 certificates for Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Management Systems.

Milaha has announced that two of its business units - Container Shipping and Shipyard - have received new certifications from the International Standards Organisation (ISO). The Container Shipping Unit renewed its ISO 9001:2008 certification for Quality Management Systems, and added the ISO 14001:2004 for Environment Management System to its certification portfolio. Milaha Shipyard, on the other hand, has been certified with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001: 2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007 for Quality, Environment, Health & Safety Management Systems

Milaha's President and CEO Mr. Abdulrahman Essa Al-Mannai said: 'We are pleased to have passed the rigorous audit stage and received the certificates which will not only enhance our internal management and operational processes, but will also improve our competitive standing in future commercial efforts. On the other hand, the ISO14001:2004 certification demonstrates Milaha's commitment to international industry-specific environmental standards.'

Dario Arcella, Milaha's VP - Shipyard, said: 'We successfully renewed our ISO 9001:2008 certification by undergoing changes to our quality management system to ensure increased productivity and reduced operational cost. The ISO 14001:2004 certificate affirms our compliance with environmental regulations, while the OHSAS 18001:2007 certification will ensure a safer work environment with enhanced production performance.'

It is noteworthy that Milaha's wholly-owned subsidiaries, Qatar Shipping (QShip) and Halul Offshore, also have excellent track records in safety, environment protection, and quality management systems. QShip currently holds the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 certificates, while Halul Offshore holds the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, and ISO/TS 29001 certificates.
