PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk announced sales results for the first half ended June 2012. The company announced net sales grow by 20.8% to IDR 4.97 trillion in the first half of the year from the same period in 2011. The surge in Net Sales were supported by higher sales in its food and beverage division. Its food and beverage division dominated net sales at 94.9%, followed by its family entertainment center division with 3.5%. Between January and June 2012, sales from the food and beverage division reached IDR 4.72 trillion, 21.4% higher than the same period last year.

The company expects to reach IDR 11.53 trillion in net sales by the end of 2012, up 24% from last year. It allocated IDR 680 billion to this year's capital expenditures and disbursed IDR 360 billion in the first half of the year for the construction of the new Hypermart outlets.

As of September 2012, the company operated 74 Hypermart outlets including one in Maluku and Papua and planned to open eight more outside Java by the end of this year, with a special focus on eastern Indonesia.
