Jakarta, 15 May 2013 - Three largest cellular operators in Indonesia (Telkomsel, XL and Indosat) collaborate to provide the latest innovation in the digital era, namely the E-money Interoperability (P2P Transfer) service, or the Cross-Operator Electronic Remittance Service. This service is launched together by the president directors of the three companies, namely Alex J Sinaga of Telkomsel, Hasnul Suhaimi of XL, and Alexander Rusli of Indosat, and witnessed by the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Darmin Nasution, Minister of Communications and Informatics, Tifatul Sembiring, and Head of Fiscal Policy Agency, Bambang Brodjonegoro.

This collaboration is aimed at developing and expanding the electronic remittance service network in Indonesia by speeding up the electronic remittance speed, adding distribution channels, increasing SMS traffic exponentially, and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all three operators in developing the electronic remittance service. In addition, this collaboration is also a form of support for Bank Indonesia in its effort to develop a cash-less society.

With this cross-operator electronic remittance service, the customers of all three operators, numbering at around 230 million subscribers, can remit money to one another. For example, a TCASH (Telkomsel) subscriber can transfer money to a XL Tunai (XL) subscriber as well as to a Dompetku (Indosat) subscriber, and vice versa.

The benefits that can be enjoyed by the customers from the cross-operator electronic remittance service include ease of access to financial transactions via their mobile phones, and indirectly this will also enhance the "customer experience and their loyalty, exceptionally so in this digital era.

In this event, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Darmin Nasution, stated, "Looking forward, we hope that more operators and banks will join this innovative measure, so that the benefits can be enjoyed by the public. Not only that this will create an added value to the development of the payment and banking system industry, the Indonesian economy and financial services stability will also be enhanced."

The cellular operators openly welcome the support from Bank Indonesia, which they see will accelerate the expansion of the electronic remittance service in Indonesia.
