Bank Mandiri Persero Tbk PT : Teams Up with Bank Mantap to Provide Micro Financing

Jakarta, 3 August 2016 - Bank Mandiri and Bank Mandiri Taspen Pos (Mantap) have joined forces to launch a special micro-financing scheme aimed at helping retired civil servants and TNI/Polri members to better manage their finances. Through the Multipurpose Micro Credit (KSM) Combo scheme, serving civil servants and TNI/Polri members can avail of KSM loans from Bank Mandiri, whose management is then taken over by Bank Mantap when they retire.
A collaboration agreement to this effect was signed by Bank Mandiri SVP, Wawan Setiawan, and Bank Mantap CEO Nixon LP Napitupulu, witnessed Bank Mandiri Retail Banking Director, Tardi, in Jakarta on Wednesday (3 August).
Tardi said that this special micro-credit scheme was designed to provide a financing structure that benefitted civil servants and TNI/Polri members as it was based on a relatively longer financing period and an easier repayment scheme than that which applied in the case of other micro segment products. He added that the loan ceiling per borrower was Rp 500 million.
'This synergy within the Bank Mandiri Group is also intended to show our appreciation for our civil servants and TNI/Polri members, who have devoted themselves to serving the community,' said Tardi.
He said that Bank Mandiri would continue to develop new products and financial services that benefitted civil servants and TNI/Polri members, particular retirees.
In the micro segment alone, he said, Bank Mandiri had provided Rp 46 trillion in loans up to the end of the second quarter of 2016. This marked an increase of 15.9% from Rp 39.7 trillion during the same period last year.
Meanwhile, Nixon LP Napitupulu said that the collaboration was in line with his company's strategy of forging synergies with Bank Mandiri, its parent company, so as to develop its business in the retiree segment.
'We are optimistic that this KSM Combo product will receive a positive response from civil servants and TNI/Polri members,' said Nixon.
