LD Celulose has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract to Poyry, a subsidiary of AFRY, to build a new dissolving pulp plant in B Estimated to cost $1.3 billion, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of dissolving pulp. It will be located in Triângulo Mineiro (MG). The entire production of the plant will be exported and will be supplied to Lenzing's operations in Europe and Asia. The services provided by Poyry include interconnections between all the process areas, turbo generators and steam distribution systems, a water cooling centre and other complimentary systems. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Poyry has already been working with LD Celulose before the joint venture was formed and has been responsible in the conceptual and basic engineering development, detailed infrastructure engineering projects, external logistics studies and composing area projects along with supporting the project's environmental licensing process.
