NCC AB (publ) has signed an agreement with the energy company Ørsted to construct a carbon capture and storage plant in Denmark. The project is expected to be completed in late 2025. NCC's contract encompasses the construction of foundations, buildings and tubular bridges for the facility at the Asnæs Power Station in Kalundborg, which is expected to capture 280,000 tons of biogenic CO2 annually.

The project marks the first stage in the establishment of large-scale CO2 infrastructure in Denmark. Work will commence in early 2024 and is expected to be completed at the end of 2025. The assignment is worth about SEK 300 million in total and will be registered during the first and second quarter of 2024 in the NCC Infrastructure business area.
