UPDATE: TRAGIC ROAD ACCIDENT NEAR VENETIA MINE RESULTS IN MULTIPLE MURRAY & ROBERTS EMPLOYEE FATALITIES - MEDIA STATEMENT 3

Musina, 22 September 2023- The Murray & Roberts Group mourns the loss of its 17 Murray & Roberts Cementation employees, following the tragic road accident on Sunday afternoon (17 September 2023).

Our focus continues to be on providing support and counselling to the families of the deceased, our injured employees and employees at site. During the week, Murray & Roberts Cementation leadership spent time with the families of the deceased, who travelled to Musina for purposes of identifying their loved ones.

In instances where bodies were not easily identifiable, DNA testing was conducted, and the results are expected within three to four weeks. We ask that the families' privacy be respected, as the names of the deceased will only be released with the consent of the families. We again offer our deepest condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives and those who were injured and impacted by this tragic accident.

Murray & Roberts once again extends a note of appreciation to the Department of Health, Department of Transport and Community Safety, Department of Social Development, and our business partner, De Beers Group, who have been very supportive and helpful during this difficult period.
