Mersen has made a major technological contribution to the European Space Agency's (ESA) Euclid mission, whose successful launch in July is now delivering the first images from the probe.

Mersen Boostec joined the project in 2013, supplying the mirrors and structural parts of this large silicon carbide (SiC) telescope to Airbus Defence and Space, the payload's prime contractor.

Other major elements of Euclid, such as the structure of the NISP instrument for the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille, were made by Mersen Boostec in SiC, a lightweight, robust and extremely stable ceramic.
