Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) plans to raise the capacity of its 470,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker by more than 65% in the first half of 2017. The ethylene capacity at the facility in Onsan will go up by 330,000 tonnes/year to 800,000 tonnes/year. The company's total propylene capacity will increase from around 350,000 tonnes/year to approximately 510,000 tonnes/year to 520,000 tonnes/year, including around 110,000 tonnes/year of existing supply from an olefins conversion unit located in the same complex.
