Kimberly-Clark Corporation reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 5,063 million compared to USD 4,722 million a year ago. Net income was USD 437 million compared to USD 404 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.3 compared to USD 1.2 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.29 compared to USD 1.19 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 10,158 million compared to USD 9,465 million a year ago. Net income was USD 960 million compared to USD 988 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.85 compared to USD 2.92 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 2.84 compared to USD 2.92 a year ago.
Kimberly-Clark Corporation specializes in the manufacturing and the marketing of hygiene products and personal care. Net sales break down by family products as follows:
- protection and personal care products (52.3%): disposable diapers, training pants, diapers, feminine protection products, etc. (Huggies, Pull-Ups, Little Swimmers, GoodNites, DryNites, Sweety, Kotex, U by Kotex, Intimus, Depend, Thinx, Poise, Plenitud, Softex and other brand names) ;
- household hygiene products (30.8%): tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, hand towels, paper napkins, wipes, etc. (Kleenex, Scott, Cottonelle, Viva, Andrex, Scottex and other brand names);
- professional hygiene products (16.7%): hand towels, tissues, towels, apparel, disinfectants, industrial wipers, etc. (Kleenex, Scott, WypAll, Kimtech, KleenGuard and other brand names);
- others (0.2%).
At the end of 2023, the group had 82 production sites worldwide.
Noth America accounts for 54.5% of net sales.
