Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Announces Management Changes, Effective on April 1, 2017

Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has announced that, based on decisions made at a board of directors meeting earlier on February 24, 2017, the following Representative Directors will be appointed new positions effective April 1, 2017: Kenji Tomida, Senior Executive Vice President (currently Senior Vice President), Joji Iki, Director (currently Senior Executive Vice President). The Company also announced that the following management changes will become effective April 1, 2017. New managing executive officer to be appointed were Katsuya Yamamoto, General Manager Corporate Planning Division (currently General Manager Planning & Control Division Precision Machinery Company). Managing executive officer to be appointed new position were Ikuhiro Narimatsu General Manager General Administration Division and in charge of CSR Division, Legal Division (currently in charge of CSR Division, Legal Division and General Administration Department, and in charge of outside activities for Kansai region). Executive officers to be appointed new positions were Hiroji Iwasaki as in charge of North American Business Rolling Stock Company (currently General Manager Business Planning & Control Division Rolling Stock Company), Kazuhiro Honkawa as General Manager Business Planning & Control Division Rolling Stock Company (currently Vice President Aerospace Company), Yoshihiro Uetake as in charge of Supply Chain Management Gas Turbine & Machinery Company (currently General Manager Manufacturing Division Aerospace Company). New executive officers to be appointed were Makoto Shiota to Corporate Planning Division (currently Strategic Advisor), Hiroyoshi Shimokawa as Vice President Aerospace Company (currently General Manager QM Promoting Division Aerospace Company), Hidehiko Shimamura Precision Machinery Company assigned to Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery Private Limited (currently assigned to Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery Private Limited).
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. specializes in manufacturing and marketing of transportation and industrial machines equipments. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale of motorcycles and engines (29.8%);
- sale of aerospace equipments (19.9%): aircrafts, helicopters, missiles, electronic equipments, monorails, etc.;
- sale of gas turbines (19.8%): turbines for naval, marines and industrial applications, generators, propulsion systems, etc. The group also develops naval construction activity (construction of ships, submarines, bulk carriers, oil tankers, etc.);
- sale of precision machines (16.8%): primarily hydraulic machines. The group is also developing a manufacturing of industrial machinery activity (tunnel boring machines, curling machines, grinding machines, etc.);
- sale of railway equipments (8.4%): train cars, electric and diesel locomotives, monorails, etc.;
- other (5.3%).
