Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. has announced that, based on decisions made at a Board of Directors meeting earlier February 19, 2015, the following Directors will be appointed following positions effective April 1, 2015: Joji Iki as Senior Executive Vice President (currently Senior Vice President); Kenji Tomida as Senior Vice President (currently Senior Vice President); Kyohei Matsuoka as Director (currently Senior Executive Vice President); Hiroshi Takata as Director (currently Senior Executive Vice President); Minoru Makimura as Director (currently Senior Vice President); Shigehiko Kiyama as Director simutaniously appointed Advisor, Kawasaki Trading Co. Ltd. (currently Senior Vice President). The company also announced that the following management changes will become effective April 1, 2015.
Executive officers to be appointed new positions: Joji Iki as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of technology, sales and procurement (currently President Gas Turbine & Machinery Company); Kenji Tomida as President Motorcycle & Engine Company (currently General Manager Corporate Planning Division); Genichi Abe as Deputy General Manager Marketing Division (currently General Manager Project Division Ship & Offshore Structure Company); Tatsuya Watanabe as Vice President Plant & Infrastructure Company (currently General Manager Energy Plant Engineering Division Plant & Infrastructure Company). New managing executive officers to be appointed: Toshiyuki Kuyama as President Gas Turbine & Machinery Company (currently General Manager Gas Turbine Division Gas Turbine & Machinery Company); Kazuo Ota as General Manager Corporate Planning Division also in charge of finance & accounting and personnel & labor administration divisions (currently General Manager Planning & Control Division Aerospace Company); Ikuhiro Narimatsu in charge of CSR, legal, and general administration divisions (currently General Manager Personnel & Labor Administration Division); Koji Kadota as General Manager Corporate Technology Division (currently Deputy General Manager Corporate Technology Division). New executive officers to be appointed: Katsuhisa Yamada as General Manager Gas Turbine Division Gas Turbine & Machinery Company (currently Deputy General Manager Gas Turbine Division Gas Turbine & Machinery Company); Sukeyuki Namiki as Vice President Aerospace Company (currently in charge of next large aircraft project Aerospace Company); Yoshinori Mochida as Vice President Ship & Offshore Structure Company (currently special assignment Ship & Offshore Structure Company); Toshifumi Kojima special assignment Aerospace Company (currently General Manager Marketing & Sales Division Aerospace Company); Kenichi Fukushima as General Manager Personnel & Labor Administration Division (currently Deputy General Manager General Administration Division); Hisashi Yamaji as General Manager Planning & Control Division Ship & Offshore Structure Company (currently same as above); Katsuya Yamamoto as General Manager Planning & Control Division Precision Machinery Company (currently same as above); Eiichi Harada as Deputy General Manager Corporate Technology Division (currently same as above); Kazutoshi Honkawa as General Manager Planning & Control Division Aerospace Company (currently Deputy General Manager Planning & Control Division Aerospace Company); Yuji Horiuchi as General Manager Research & Development Division Motorcycle & Engine Company (currently same as above).
Retiring executive officers (as of March 31, 2015): Shinsuke Tanaka, Shiro Nakabayashi, Kaoru Kawabe, Hirokazu Komaki, Masafumi Nakagawa and Masayoshi Maeda.
Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. specializes in manufacturing and marketing of transportation and industrial machines equipments. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale of motorcycles and engines (29.8%);
- sale of aerospace equipments (19.9%): aircrafts, helicopters, missiles, electronic equipments, monorails, etc.;
- sale of gas turbines (19.8%): turbines for naval, marines and industrial applications, generators, propulsion systems, etc. The group also develops naval construction activity (construction of ships, submarines, bulk carriers, oil tankers, etc.);
- sale of precision machines (16.8%): primarily hydraulic machines. The group is also developing a manufacturing of industrial machinery activity (tunnel boring machines, curling machines, grinding machines, etc.);
- sale of railway equipments (8.4%): train cars, electric and diesel locomotives, monorails, etc.;
- other (5.3%).
