JD.com's Freight Airline Secures Operating License From China

09/05/2022 | 02:21am
(MT Newswires) -- China’s aviation authorities have given JD.com’s (HKG:9618) freight airline the green light to operate, Yicai Global reported Friday without saying how it obtained the information.

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China's East China Regional Administration handed down the air operator certificate to Jiangsu Jingdong Cargo Airlines on Aug. 31, according to the report.

Back in May, JD.com won approval to purchase three Boeing 737 freight planes from the US for its freight airline. It follows the approval to establish Jingdong Cargo in August 2021.

Jingdong Cargo will operate out of Nantong Xingdong International Airport in China’s Jiangsu province and will handle both domestic and international air freight, Yicai reported.
