ITOCHU Corporation announced that at its board meeting held on March 23, 2018 newly appointed Masatoshi Kawana as member of the board and announced the retirement of Ichiro Fujisaki and Chikara Kawakita from the members of the board. Masatoshi Kawana was vice president of Tokyo Women's Medical University Hospital and Professor of General Medicine. The company also appointed Shuzaburo Tsuchihashi as audit and supervisory board member and Yoshio Akamatsu was retiring from audit and supervisory board member. Shuzaburo Tsuchihashi was vice president of Metals & Mineral Company as of April 1, 2018.
Itochu Corporation is a diversified group organized around 8 areas of activity:
- distribution of food products (34.9% of net sales): frozen food, vegetable oil, sweeteners, sugars, etc.;
- distribution of hydrocarbons (23.3%): hydrocarbons (natural gas, oil products, bioethanol, etc.). The group also develops manufacturing of chemical products activity;
