COPENHAGEN, April 4 (Reuters) - Swedish debt collector Intrum said on Thursday it had appointed Johan Akerblom, currently CEO at Latvian Citadele Bank, as its new chief financial officer.

Akerblom will join Intrum at a time of mounting investor concerns around the Swedish company's own 60 billion Swedish crowns ($5.65 billion)of debt.

"Johan will play an important role, together with me, driving our near-term agenda with a focus on strengthening our financial profile through reduced leverage," Intrum CEO Andres Rubio said in a statement.

Intrum said Akerblom would start at a later date in 2024, succeeding interim CFO Emil Folkesson who will return to his former role as head of investor relations.
