HumanOptics AG is a Germany-based company that develops, produces and distributes intelligent technology for eye implantation surgery, especially intraocular lenses (IOL). These artificial lenses are implanted into the human eye. Indications for IOL implantations are eye diseases, such as the cataract. Intraocular lenses are also used for refractive surgery to correct refractive errors of the eye causing ametropia. The lenses are distributed under the brand names of Aspira, Diffractiva, Secura and Torica, among others. In addition, the Company offers its target group, the ophthalmic surgeons, accessories and complementary products, as well as consulting services. It operates also a wholly owned subsidiary, Dr. Schmidt Intraocularlinsen GmbH. On February 2, 2012, Medipart AG became majority shareholder of the Company.
