SEOUL, Dec 22 (Reuters) - A tender offer by private equity firm MBK Partners to acquire a stake in battery storage maker Hankook & Company has failed, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday, citing an MBK official.

MBK launched an offer to acquire a minimum 20.35% stake in Hankook earlier this month. MBK and Hankook could not be immediately reached.

Hankook shares closed at 16,380 won per share on Friday, below a revised offer price of 24,000 won from MBK. (Reporting by Joyce Lee; Editing by Jan Harvey)
