Group Five Plans To Begin Offloading Assets To Keep Afloat

Group Five Limited (JSE:GRF) has flagged that it would begin to offload some of its assets in order to keep afloat. The group, which was placed in business rescue last month, said the sale of its assets came after other refinancing options failed to yield any results.

Group Five is a building and civil engineering works organized around 4 areas of activity: - construction of buildings and civil engineering infrastructures (66.9%): roads, ports, airports, industrial sites, mining infrastructure, residential and non-residential buildings, etc. The group also provides engineering services primarily to mechanic, electricity and mining and petrochemical industries sectors; - manufacturing of building materials and steel products (15.1%): fiber-cement products, reinforcing bars, metal structures, profiles, etc.; - management under concession and infrastructure maintenance (13.5%).
