(Alliance News) - Convenience food maker Greencore Group PLC on Monday said Chief Financial Officer Emma Hynes will step down from the role in May.

Hynes will step down as director after three years in the role following the release of the group's half-year results in May. She will then remain with Greencore for a transition period to help ensure a smooth succession process.

Hynes joined Greencore as CFO in April 2020, having previously served in a variety of finance leadership roles there for over 11 years.

Chief Executive Officer Dalton Philips said that Hynes had made an "enormous contribution" to the group's evolution, and that her leadership had been "invaluable".

He said: "On a personal note, I would like to thank Emma for her counsel and support since my appointment as CEO. On behalf of everyone at Greencore, we wish her all the very best for the future."

Greencore's board has commenced its search process for a new CFO.

Shares in Greencore were up by 0.3% in London on Monday morning at 81.40 pence.
