Genesis Minerals Limited (Genesis) (ASX: GMD) is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced mining executive Matt Nixon as General Manager - Leonora, reporting to the Managing Director.

Mr Nixon will transition into this key operational role over the current September quarter, working with outgoing General Manager Andrew Lindsay who has announced his intention to retire.

Mr Nixon has more than 14 years' industry experience in a range of senior management roles. Over this period, he has built a strong track record in culture, safety and operational delivery, predominantly in Western Australian underground gold mines. Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of Labyrinth Resources and various senior management positions at operations including Jundee (Northern Star), Andy Well (Doray) and Gwalia (St Barbara).

He also worked for global contract miner Redpath. Mr Nixon holds a Bachelor of Mining Engineering from the University of NSW, and a Western Australian First Class Mine Manager's Certificate. In his new role, Mr Nixon will have responsibility for managing all areas of Genesis' Leonora Gold Operation and will be a key player in the December half 2023 Gwalia strategic review. Immediate priorities include:

Safe and sustainable re-set of Gwalia mine production; adding Admiral ore to fill the Leonora mill

Acceleration of development and drilling
