Gemadept Corporation (Gemadept - Stock code: GMD) has cooperated with BSI (British Standards Institute) to organize a training program on "Greenhouse gas inventory and reporting" for the Company's employees.

With the orientation of sustainable development and a deep sense of corporate responsibility to the community along with the roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions towards "Net-zero" of Vietnam by 2050, Gemadept has coordinated with with professional consulting unit BSI (British Standards Institute) to conduct training, inventory and report GHG emissions according to international standards ISO 14064-1:2018 at 2 units: Nam Dinh Vu Port and Gemalink Port.

Following the pilot implementation of GHG inventory at Nam Dinh Vu and Gemalink ports, in the coming time, Gemadept will continue to carry out GHG inventory at other ports in Gemadept's port system, and at the same time develop a roadmap to reduce emissions towards the goal of carbon neutrality according to the Government's commitment. The GHG inventory has a positive impact, through which the Company reviews and rationalizes business activities in order to use energy and water more efficiently, as well as prevent and manage operational risks of the Company.

Through the training program, the participating employees were able to share about the current situation of global climate change, the causes and mechanisms of climate change, and the sources of GHG emissions according to ISO 14064 Standard.

Participating employees were granted training certificates by a reputable training and certification organization under BSI

In addition, participating employees were also guided on the contents to be included in the report, as well as the procedures in making the GHG Inventory report; Thereby, Gemadept employees can have a comprehensive view of the Company's emission status, identify and quantify the main emission sources to help the Company proactively manage emissions and identify the most effective and economical emission reduction measures.

In order to raise the awareness of each employee about green development, in parallel with specific action programs in operation, working towards environmental protection, catching up with the world trend, and quickly responding to the requirements of the Government, investors, customers and stakeholders, Gemadept will continue to implement roadmap to organize training and conduct GHG inventory at other units such as: Dung Quat, Phuoc Long, Binh Duong, etc. this year.
