A Milestone in Sustainability: Gamma's Net-Zero Targets Validated by SBTi

Gamma Communications plc ("Gamma"), a leading technology-based provider of communication services across Europe, is pleased to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated that the science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets submitted by Gamma conform with the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard. This means that our targets are in line with the emissions reductions required to keep global warming to 1.5°C.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The SBTi defines and promotes best practices in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies' targets.

Gamma has three targets approved:

Overall Net-Zero Target: We commit to reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2042.

Near-Term Targets: Gamma commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2030 from a 2021 base year. We also commit to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 50% within the same timeframe.

Long-Term Targets: Gamma commits to maintain at least 90% absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions reductions from 2030 through 2042 from a 2021 base year. We also commit to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2042 from a 2021 base year.

Gamma publishes environmental data on an annual basis and you can find out more about our progress to date on our ESG Hub.

Andrew Belshaw, CEO at Gamma Communications plc commented "The validation of our science-based reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative demonstrates our commitment to addressing climate change and our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices. By aligning our targets with the SBTi, we are taking steps towards reducing our environmental impact and contributing to world-wide efforts to limit global warming."

Sarah Kirton, Group Sustainability Director said "I am delighted to announce the validation of our emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This endorsement not only affirms our long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship but also propels us toward a more sustainable future. Of course, the hard work starts now but I'm confident that our ambitions will be realised with the right commitment from our people, suppliers and customers".
