F&N Shares the Chinese New Year Cheer With the Elderly and Underprivileged Throughout Malaysia and Brunei

F&NHB has always been an integral part of festive celebrations for generations of Malaysians. In line with the brand promise of "Pure Enjoyment, Pure Goodness", Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd ("F&NHB" or "the Group") strives to encourage communities to connect with each other, especially during festive seasons.

For this year, F&NHB continued its tradition to spread smiles this Chinese New Year, visiting 460 orphans, disabled children, and senior citizens all across Malaysia. For the first time this year, F&NHB's new subsidiary, Cocoaland, participated in the visits to the various homes.

The homes visited include Persatuan Syukur Penyayang Pulau Pinang, Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1 Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Terencat Akal, Cheerful Children Centre, Persatuan Kebajikan Shan De Johor Bahru, Joy Garden Karak -House of Joy, Lions Club Kota Bahru Down Syndrom Center, Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak terencat Akal K.Trg, Sarawak Hung Num Siang Tng, One Home Care Centre, Brunei's Autism Centre and Pusat Jagaan Titian OKU Nur Rawang.

Close to 100 staff volunteers visited 12 homes in total, located in Butterworth, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Johor, Mentakab, Kota Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and even Brunei. The volunteers distributed personal care products, Mandarin oranges, F&N food items, and ang pows worth RM 5,000 to the residents.

"F&NHB actively supports initiatives that give back to the community, as Malaysians have always supported us through both the good and bad times. We have been carrying out this festive season initiative for more than 20 years and we will continue giving back for many more decades to come. We believe that spreading festive cheer helps members of our communities to connect with each other and strengthen the bonds between people of different cultures," said Karen Tan, Director, Communications, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability of F&NHB.

Tan added, "This effort is also part of F&NHB's commitment to a 'Better Society', by supporting vulnerable groups such as the elderly and underprivileged children. As we celebrate 140 years, we are all the more committed to continue initiatives to support communities in which F&NHB operates. We want to foster a greater sense of unity in our multicultural nation, and build impactful relationships through meaningful engagement with our stakeholders."

F&NHB is gradually increasing the number of annual community programmes by 10%, from 2020 to 2025 in line with its commitment to community development and inclusive growth towards creating a better society.
