Far Eastern Department Stores, Ltd. announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the third quarter, the company announced sales was TWD 8,506.084 million compared to TWD 8,308.453 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 916.671 million compared to TWD 791.162 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 813.557 million compared to TWD 457.097 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 0.58 compared to TWD 0.32 a year ago. For the nine months, sales was TWD 25,089.249 million compared to TWD 26,110.500 million a year ago. Operating income was TWD 2,363.561 million compared to TWD 2,803.983 million a year ago. Net income was TWD 1,209.351 million compared to TWD 1,144.719 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was TWD 0.86 compared to TWD 0.81 a year ago.
Far Eastern Department Stores Ltd. is a Taiwan-based company principally engaged in the operation of department stores and supermarkets. The department stores operated by the Company provide apparels for men and women and children, furniture, home appliances, sports and leisure products and consumer electronics, among others. The Company mainly operates businesses in Taiwan and Mainland China. The Company is also involved in investment businesses, trading businesses, e-commerce businesses, credit cards businesses, the agency of advertisement and importers, as well as the leasing of constructions through its subsidiaries.
