Companhia Paranaense de Energia (BOVESPA:CPLE6) and Energisa S.A. (BOVESPA:ENGI3) made a BRL 3.2 billion bid for Rede Energia S.A. (BOVESPA:REDE4). Copel said that they have submitted the proposal to a bankruptcy court. The request, which involves nine Rede subsidiaries, is expected to be analyzed during a meeting of Rede's creditors on June 5, 2013.

"Copel will keep its shareholders and the market informed about any relevant developments related to the proposal," Copel said. Energisa SA said on May 29, 2013 together with Companhia with respect to the Bankrutpcy and Judicial Recovery Court in Sao Paulo's judgement on judicial recovery of Grupo Rede, a proposal for the acquisition of a 100% stake in Caiuá Distribution De Energia S.A, a 50.9% stake in Comp de Energia Eletrica do Estado do Tocantins-CELTINS, a 97.7% stake in Companhia Forca e Luz do Oeste, a 98.7% stake in Comp Nacional de Energia Eletrica, a 100% stake in Empresa de Distribuicao De Energia Vale Paranapanema SA, a 91.5% stake in Empresa Eletrica Bragantina S.A., a 39.9% stake in Centrais Elétricas Matogrossenses S.A. - CEMAT (BOVESPA:CMGR4), a 100% stake in Empresa Energetica de Mato Grosso do Sul SA, and a 61.7% stake in Tangará Energia S.A., all the companies directly or indirectly held by Rede Energia SA. The total value of the proposal amounts to BRL 3.2 billion.

Energisa SA and COPEL requested the proposal to be considered on the General Meeting of Creditors to be held on June 5, 2013.
