Shares of power producers rose for the session, but lost ground for the week amid concerns about earnings growth.

Duke Energy has fallen by 4% for the week, as the operator of utilities in North Carolina, Florida, Ohio and elsewhere warned that rising interest rates had eaten away at its profit, a risk that many heavily indebted utilities are struggling to address.
