Daikin : Awarded "Bronze Class" and "Industry Mover" in Sustainability Rating at the RobecoSAM Sustainability Awards 2016

Daikin Industries, Ltd. was awarded the distinction of Bronze Class in sustainability rating at the RobecoSAM Sustainability Awards 2016. The award was bestowed by RobecoSAM, a leading research institution based in Switzerland that globally evaluates investments for social responsibility. At the same time, Daikin was also selected as an 'Industry Mover,' an award given to companies in each industry sector whose scores are within 15% of the industry leader and have achieved the largest proportional improvement in sustainability performance from the previous fiscal year.

For its RobecoSAM Sustainability Awards, RobecoSAM evaluates leading global companies concerning sustainability on specific activities and information disclosure from the three aspects of economy, environment, and society. Companies deemed to be particularly outstanding are rated in categories of Gold Class, Silver Class, and Bronze Class.

RobecoSAM has been analyzing the sustainability of companies since 1999 as an investment specialist focused exclusively in Sustainability Investment. The evaluation for this year targeted 3,426 companies in 59 sectors.

Classified within the Building Products sector, Daikin received high accolades for its actions toward the environment beginning with its response to climate change, such as environmental warming, together with information disclosure for efforts including respect for human rights, labour practices, and compliance. Measured against the previous year, the company was recognized with selection of Bronze Class and Industry Mover.
