(Alliance News) - Comal Spa announced on Monday that it has signed a contract worth about EUR27.5 million with a leading Italian energy company for the turnkey, EPC-M formula supply of a photovoltaic plant in southern Italy.

The contract also includes the sale of the "SUN HUNTER" tracker, a proprietary product designed and manufactured by Comal in its Montalto di Castro factory.

The SUN HUNTER is a state-of-the-art tracker, already with an extensive track record of completed installations that enables a significant increase in the levels of energy produced by the plant and a strong reduction in wind damage, the company explained in a note.

Alfredo Balletti, CEO of Comal, commented, "With this important contract Comal consolidates its position as a leading Italian company in the photovoltaic sector. It also confirms that our business model, based on turnkey EPC solutions and proprietary products, Tracker, transformer substations, is unique and has no equal in Italy and Europe. We are very pleased with the positive results achieved so far and the confidence that clients, both domestic and international, place in the company's implementation capabilities, prerequisites for further business growth and development in the future.

On Friday, Comal closed 2.5 percent in the red at EUR3.54 per share.
