Central Bank of India announced that Dr. Bhaskar Gorugantu is appointed as Chief Risk Officer of the Bank with effect from 03 August, 2023 in place of Shri Ashwini Kumar Shukla who ceased to be the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the Bank with effect from close of working hours on 02 August, 2023 on completion of his tenure. Dr. Bhaskar Gorugantu, aged 50, holds Bachelor degree in Commerce & Master degree in Business Administration. He is also Ph.D. holder in the field of Foreign Exchange and Risk Management and passed Financial Risk Management (FRM) of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

He started his career as Junior Officer in AndhraBank Housing Finance Limited in 1998. Subsequently, he had worked in Andhra Bank & Corporation Bank. Further, he joined Central Bank of India as AGM (Chief Dealer) in 2011 and was promoted to Dy General Manager in 2016.

Before his elevation as CRO, he has worked as Deputy Zonal Head in Ahmedabad Zone. He has rich experience of nearly two decades in Treasury and International Division covering Front, Back and Mid office functions. He also carried out research work in the areas of Foreign Exchange and Risk Management.
