FANS' FORUM REPORT 2021/22

As set out in the 2017 Report to the AGM, a resolution was passed at the 2016 Celtic plc AGM to establish a Supporters' Forum. The Club are delighted that it has continued to go from strength to strength during 2021/22.

MEETINGS OF THE FANS' FORUM IN 2021/22

Three meetings of the Fans Forum were held at Celtic Park since the last AGM - in February, April and October 2022. Each meeting was attended by over 50 supporters.

In addition to the 6 recognised supporters' organisations, who are invited to all Forum meetings, the Club has a record of around 100 fans who have expressed an interest in attending the Fans' Forum and the Club continues to invite a number of fans to attend each meeting based on the items to be consulted on. Further information can be found on the Fans Forum Hubon the Club's website.

To encourage open discussion and consultation, the format continues to be managed informally, with no recording or social media postings permitted at the meeting. Following each Forum meeting (where appropriate), the Club publishes minutes of the meeting on the Club website together with an 'action tracker' to monitor any on-going actions or projects.

KEY TOPICS DISCUSSED IN 2021/22:

A wide range of topics have been discussed at the forum this year, including:

  • Match day Experience;
  • Supporter behaviour;
  • Away Ticketing;
  • Stadium Catering, Facilities and Improvements;
  • Celtic FC Women and B Team;
  • Accessibility; and
  • Fan Engagement.

The Board receives regular updates on the topics discussed at the Fans' Forum and the views expressed form an important part of the Board's consideration of these issues.

FANS' FORUM SUB-GROUPS

In addition to the main Fans' Forum meeting, a total of six sub-groups (outlined below) have now been established, each of which focuses on a specific area of importance to both the Club and fans. Each sub-group meets on an ad hoc basis and adopts a collaborative approach to ensure that Fans interests are represented.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2021/22

East Stand - Accessible Platform

As a result of input from the Forum, the Club has recently opened a new accessible Platform located in the East Stand of the stadium which provides an additional sixteen (16) available spaces for wheelchair users on a match day.

Withdrawal of Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

Proposals by Glasgow City Council (GCC) to implement match day parking restrictions were recently withdrawn following on-going consultation with those attending previous meetings of the Fans' Forum.

Whitby Street - Match day

Following discussions relating to on-going issues faced due to supporters gathering at Whitby Street on match days, the Forum worked collaboratively with the community, Glasgow City Council and the wider support to create a volunteer group who have been undertaking a match day litter picking exercise, which has been successful and well supported.

The Celtic Census

Members of the Fans' Forum were invited to take part in the recently launched 'Celtic Census', the biggest ever survey of Celtic supporters worldwide. The Census represents the next step in the evolution of the Fans' Forum as the Club strives to ensure that all areas of our diverse fan base are represented and given the opportunity to have their voice heard and presents and help shape the future of the Club.

Fans' Forum Hub

We are excited to announce that we have launched an improved Fans' Forum Hub which is a platform for fans to get involved with the Fans' Forum and actively engage with the Club. As well as information about the work and progress of the Forum, the Hub also includes dedicated pages for each of the sub- groups, allowing Fan's to keep up to date with the issues that matter to them most.

ATTENDING THE FANS' FORUM

The Fans' Forum is open to all Celtic supporters and shareholders and comprises representatives of the Club and the Celtic support, including delegates from several recognised supporter organisations.

If you are interested in attending the Fans' Forum, please complete the application available at celticfc.com/fans/fans-forumor email our Supporter Liaison Officer, John Paul Taylor at JPTaylor@celticfc.co.uk.
