Two new members proposed for election

BEKB | BCBE's Board of Directors proposes to BEKB | BCBE's General Meeting of May 15 2012 to re-elect the president in office, Dr. Jürg Rieben, and the vice president in office, Thomas Rufer, for a further three-year term of office, and to newly elect Jean- Claude Nobili and Peter Siegenthaler to BEKB | BCBE's Board of Directors.

Jean-Claude Nobili (1951) started at BEKB | BCBE after completing his studies at the University of Bern. He first was an economic assistant to one of the members of the Executive Board. Between 1981 and 1990 he was head of marketing and responsible for external communication. In 1992 he was appointed head of corporate governance. In 2000 he was appointed to the Executive Board as head of finances. Between 2003 and the end of 2011, he was in charge of the bank's operational management in his role as head of the Executive Board. Since 1 January 2011, he has been president of the Board of Trustees of BEKB | BCBE's pension fund.

Peter Siegenthaler (1948) started working for the Federal Department of Finance in 1982, after completing his studies at the University of Bern. In 2000, he took over the management of the Federal Department of Finance. In this role, he was responsible, inter alia, for the operational management of the Federal Budget and the Federal Treasury. He also led important crisis interventions commissioned by the Federal Council. Between the middle of 2010 and the end of 2011, Peter Siegenthaler was president of the Association of Swiss Cantonal banks. He is a member of SBB's and the Spital Netz AG's Executive Board and member of the Board of Trustees of the Inselspital-Stiftung and of the Pro Juventute.
