Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited (ASX:BEN) has appointed Mr Alistair Muir as a Non-executive Director effective 12 September 2022.

Alistair is an experienced digital executive and entrepreneur with almost 20 years experience working at the forefront of finance and technology.

Alistair is currently the Managing Director of advisory business Vanteum and has advised a number of banks, insurers and fintech businesses on Open Banking and the Consumer Data Right (CDR) as well as advising the governments of three countries on fintech and digital innovation.

Alistair will provide the Bank with valuable perspectives on digital strategy, transformation and innovation. He will also be amongst the youngest serving Non-executive Directors of any Australian listed bank.

Alistair has worked with a broad range of ASX50 and Fortune 500 companies to successfully launch new digital products and ventures. This includes launching what is now Apple Music in Australia through to supporting the creation of more than 30 new companies from emerging technology in conjunction with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and other publicly funded research institutes.

Alistair is also a Non-executive Director of lenders' mortgage insurance (LMI) business Genworth Mortgage Insurance Australia (ASX:GMA) and was previously a Non-executive Director of diversified financial services business Humm Group (ASX:HUM).

Alistair holds a first-class honours degree in computer science and postgraduate qualifications from both Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Bank's chair, Jacqueline Hey, welcomed Alistair to the Board: "Alistair's digital experience with a range of companies in the financial services and payments space is impressive and highly sought after. He is perfectly placed to assist the Bank and help us achieve our vision of becoming Australia's bank of choice."
