Balder together with the Tenant Association in Stockholm has reached an agreement on an average rent increase of 4.5 percent for the company's rental properties in Stockholm and surrounding municipalities. The change will take effect on January 1, 2024.

Balder's ambition, as in previous years, is to reach an agreement early in the rental negotiation process, benefiting all parties and reducing the risk of potential retroactive rent increases. The discussions with the Tenant Association in Stockholm have been constructive and marked by an understanding of both tenants' and landlords' situations.

"The average increase of 4.5 percent has been accepted by both parties, and it ensures a reasonable rent increase. We are very aware that the increase may have a financial impact on many tenants, but as a long-term property owner, we are also responsible for taking care of our properties in the best way possible and for achieving cost coverage," says Niklas Dabrowski, chief negotiator at Balder.

The agreement with the Tenant Association in Stockholm is a foundation and starting point for Balder to negotiate and reach agreements well in advance regarding future rent adjustments in other locations throughout the country.
