We recently refreshed our research with more than 4,000 pet product consumers across five European countries to discover how their views on packaging and sustainability have changed today, compared to early 2020.

Through a combination of in-person interviews and online surveys in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Sweden, we found that shoppers in 2020 were more aware than ever of the impact of their choices, and expected to be empowered to make buying decisions that reflect their values. Pet owners also said they were prepared to pay more for more sustainable options. But that they found sustainability information confusing, and turned to brands for help in making sustainability claims clear.

What has changed since? Is sustainability still a top trend for pet food and packaging? Who stands the best chance of connecting with pet owners?

We went back to talk to pet parents and we're delighted to offer your brand the 2022 insights into how a changing marketplace is impacting buying behaviour, and what concerns consumers most when it comes to sustainability credentials.
