Airbus announces that the British Ministry of Defence has ordered six additional Airbus H145 helicopters as part of the next stage in the renewal of its rotary fleet and the reduction in the number of different types in service.

The new aircraft, which will replace Puma helicopters, will be deployed in Cyprus primarily for emergency response missions, and in Brunei to support British military jungle warfare training.

They will be delivered next year, and will serve alongside 29 H135s and seven H145s at the Defence Helicopter Flying School, which trains all British military pilots as part of the MFTS at RAF Shawbury.
