Queen Máxima will pay a working visit to the Center of Expertise Applied Artificial Intelligence of the Hogeschool van Amsterdam on Thursday morning, Oct. 5. The theme of the visit is the responsible use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The increase in the use of artificial intelligence brings dilemmas and ethical questions for society as a whole. Within the Centre of Expertise Applied Artificial Intelligence, education, research, business and civil society organizations are working closely together in seven labs on its responsible application. Queen Máxima is visiting one of the labs, the Smart Asset Management Lab. There she will speak with researchers and recent graduates about the added value of this collaboration.

The working visit will also include collaborations on AI Media & Democracy and Responsible Applied AI, which focus on issues of user dialogue and ownership of AI technology. With HvA researchers and partners from the social field, Queen Máxima will discuss the social impact of current and future applications, such as the significance of artificial intelligence for the future of work and broad welfare. She will also discuss the opportunities and risks for the Netherlands and the policy that is needed in connection with the European and global outlook on the application of AI.
