KUALA LUMPUR - At an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held today, shareholders of Affin Bank Berhad ("AFFIN BANK" or "the Bank") unanimously voted to approve the proposed special dividend amounting to RM400.21 million, or around 18.09 cent per share.

The proposed special dividend follows the completion of the Bank's divestment of its 63 percent equity interest in Affin Hwang Asset Management Bhd (AHAM) on 29 July 2022 which resulted in a gain of RM1.063 billion for AFFIN Group.

This approved special dividend, combined with the interim dividend of RM100.2 million, or around 4.53 cent per share announced earlier, will see the shareholders of AFFIN BANK receiving a total of RM500 million dividend in December 2022. Payment of these dividends will be made by end of December 2022 to the shareholders.

President and Group Chief Executive Officer of AFFIN BANK said, "With the successful divestment of AHAM, this special dividend serves to reward our shareholders for their continued support and enables them to further participate in the growth of the Bank".

"We are now embarking on the next phase of our transformation plan called A25 focusing on the three (3) pillars which are; Unrivalled Customer Service, Digital Leadership and Responsible Banking with Impact. We aim to achieve 10% Return on Equity (ROE), drive revenue growth and double our customer base to 2 million. We are certain that all of these initiatives will help AFFIN BANK become a modern and progressive Bank" he concluded.
