Cork, Ireland - CoreHR, an Access Group company and leading provider of Cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) solutions, was recognised on June 11th at the Irish HR Champion Awards, winning the 'Champion Wellness Strategy' award for the company's initiatives supporting employee wellbeing.

Sharon Looney, Chief People Officer at CoreHR says that being recognised in this way during the coronavirus pandemic feels particularly special given the additional demands on employees and the impact on their wellbeing.

"My personal motto has always been that it's your people who bring the most value to your business and our people have absolutely excelled in the last few months," said Looney. "They value all the effort we've put into ensuring their wellbeing as much as we value them taking care of the health of our business. We are truly honoured to have been named a wellness strategy champion."

Award judges were particularly impressed by recent mental wellbeing strategies designed and deployed by CoreHR's HR team. These have come to the fore in assisting employee wellness during Covid-19, supporting employees improve performance, success, energy levels & happiness.

As part of CoreHR's 'MindYourself' programme aimed at self-care, recent initiatives have provided substantial assistance to employees in need of confidential support and also fostered a culture where mental wellbeing is better understood. Actions have included:-

- Unmind: An online platform created by world-leading psychologists, Unmind helps employees to privately, but proactively track and manage their mental wellbeing. The majority of CoreHR staff have used the platform. Feedback has been highly positive.

- Psychological Wellness Week: Acknowledging World Mental Health Day and to improve employee understanding, in October mental health was openly discussed across CoreHR via seminars, workshops and other forums with free yoga sessions included.

- Mental Health First Aiders: Today around five per cent of the CoreHR workforce are fully accredited mental health first aiders and are also champions of the Unmind platform. They are welcoming of approaches from staff seeking to talk confidentially and are trained to spot signs of any more serious mental issues people might be facing and offer first point support.

"The CoreHR team have led the way in supporting our employees thrive in a busy world in all aspects of their lives," said Claire Scott, Chief People Officer, Access Group. "LoveWorkLoveLife is our motto at Access and we're thrilled that the team have been recognised for doing just that."
