Absa Group Limited Appoints Peter Mageza as Independent Non-Executive Director and Member of Group Audit and Compliance Committee, Information Technology Committee and Remuneration Committee

Absa Group Limited announced that Peter Mageza has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of Absa Group with effect from 1 August 2023. Peter is a seasoned director who has served on a number of large listed and unlisted diversified boards across South Africa and on the African continent. He is currently an independent non-executive director of Sappi Limited, Remgro Limited and RCI Foods Limited.

He is the former Chief Operations Officer and was an executive director of Absa Group and Absa Bank Limited until June 2009. Peter is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) UK. Peter will become a member of the Group Audit and Compliance Committee (GACC), Information Technology Committee (ITC) and Remuneration Committee (RemCo).
