The Paris Bourse ended the day's trading session with a gain of 0.7%, at 6,550 points, in extremely low volumes (less than 1.5 billion euros traded since the opening), due to the absence of many investors during the holiday season.

Nevertheless, the Paris index is not immune to China's new sanitary easing measures, with Beijing planning to end the quarantine measures imposed on entry to its territory from January 8.

This measure, which augurs a gradual reopening of the Chinese economy, is of particular benefit to luxury goods stocks, which are traditionally very sensitive to Beijing's economic health.
