International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Friday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.1% to 140.16. The European index was flat at 131.66, the Asian index increased 0.1% to 169.54, the Latin American index climbed 1.6% to 185.67, and the emerging markets index rose 0.2% to 287.85.
Deutsche Post AG and WPP PLC were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.
ADRs of Deutsche Post rose 4.7% after the German freight-and-logistics group said Friday that its second-quarter profit rose to 1.46 billion euros (US$1.50 billion) from EUR1.29 billion a year earlier.
ADRs of WPP fell 8.4% after the London-based advertising group posted its first-half results and raised its full-year sales outlook, but the forecast implied a slower pace of growth in the second half.
ADRs of Eni S.p.A. rose 2.3% after the company said it acquired the Tango FLNG floating liquefaction facility from Exmar for a natural-gas development project in the Republic of Congo.
