Emil Salim

Emil Salim is currently the Vice Chairman of the National Planning Council, Vice President Commissioner of PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk, a Professor at the University of Indonesia, a Trustee at The Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation, a Member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, and a Member of the Brundtland Commission.
He previously served as the Deputy Chairman of the National Development Planning Agency, Indonesia Ministry of Communication & Information, Indonesia Ministry of Tourism, and Indonesia Ministry of Transportation.
He was also the Chairman of the Komite Ekonomi Nasional and Director of the Government of Indonesia.
Additionally, he was a Member of the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesian Economists Association, Aceh-Nias Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Agency, and Komisi Nasional Hak Asasi Manusia.
Dr. Salim holds a doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley and an undergraduate degree from the University of Indonesia.
