Ashley Slater

Ms. Ashley Slater is Executive Vice President at McBee Strategic.
Ms. Slater joined McBee Strategic in February 2008.
She brings over eleven years of White House, Executive Agency, and Capitol Hill experience to the firm.
Prior to joining McBee Strategic, she served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
In this role, she represented the environmental advisor to President George W.
Bush on Capitol Hill.
Her areas of focus during her White House tenure included energy security and climate change, clean air and water, cleaner lands, and healthier ecosystems.
Prior to joining the White House, she served in the Bush Administration at the Department of Commerce where she advised Secretaries Don Evans and Carlos Gutierrez on energy and environmental issues in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Before serving in the Bush Administration, she worked for the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) as the Bonneville Administrator’s representative in Washington, D.C.
where she communicated with congressional staff and Members of Congress on issues important to BPA including the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
She also negotiated with the Department of Energy on policy and technical issues affecting the Agency.
From 1996 until 2002, she served on the legislative staff of the late Congresswoman Jennifer Dunn from Washington State.
Ms. Slater is a native of Washington State and received her B.A.
in Political Science from the University of Washington in Seattle.
She currently resides in Virginia with her husband.
