Airbus Shareholders Approve Guillaume Faury as CEO
By Cristina Roca
Airbus SE (AIR.FR) shareholders on Wednesday approved the appointment of Guillaume Faury as chief executive of the plane maker, as well as that of other members of its board of directors.
The Amsterdam-based company said Mr. Faury was appointed a member of its board of directors as well as its CEO.
Board members Claudia Nemat, Carlos Tavares and Catherine Guillouard were reappointed Wednesday during the plane maker's annual shareholder meeting. Ms. Guillouard was also reappointed to the chair audit committee, Airbus said.
Earlier Wednesday, the plane maker said its board plans to nominate Rene Obermann, a German national, as its new chairman in 2020. He will be formally appointed to the post after next year's AGM, when his predecessor leaves his post, Airbus said.
The move restores the careful balance between nationalities at the Franco-German plane maker now that Frenchman Mr. Faury replaces German Tom Enders as chief executive of the company.
