FTSE 100 Set to Rise; Asia Trades Mixed

0630 GMT - The FTSE 100 Index looks set to open 22 points higher at 7893, according to IG futures data, after mixed trading in Asia and a downbeat close on Wall Street on Friday. Markets in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan gain, though stocks in mainland China trade flat. The Dow closed Friday down 0.4%. Brent crude drops 0.1% to $86.20 a barrel. "We start the week off on a fairly quiet note with regards to data releases," Danske Bank analysts say in a note. "We get U.S. Empire manufacturing PMI and Norwegian trade balance. Through the remainder of the week, the most important release will be flash PMIs on Friday." (philip.waller@wsj.com)
