ZURICH (Reuters) - Logistics entrepreneur Klaus-Michael Kuehne has increased his stake in Lufthansa to 17.5%, Kuehne Holding said on Wednesday.
"This underlines Kuehne Holding's positive view of the company," it added in a statement to Reuters.

Klaus-Michael Kuehne is a German businessperson who founded Melmed Holding AG and IPMD GmbH and who has been at the helm of 6 different companies. Presently, Mr. Kuehne occupies the position of Chairman at Klaus-Michael Kuehne Foundation, Chairman at Kühne Logistics University GmbH, Managing Director at Melmed Holding AG and Managing Director & Director at IPMD GmbH. He is also on the board of Kühne + Nagel International AG (former Chairman), Altrazeal AG and Oradisc GmbH and Chairman of Kühne-Stiftung. In the past Mr. Kuehne was Chief Operating Officer at Meldex International Plc and Joint Managing Director at BioProgress Plc (a subsidiary of Meldex International Plc) and Senior Consultant at TSM Corp. Mr. Kuehne received an undergraduate degree from Bucerius Law School.
