Vonovia SE said Friday that it has acquired a 2.6% stake in Vesteda, a Dutch residential investor.

The German real-estate company said this is its first step into the Dutch residential property market.

Neither party has disclosed the purchase price.

Vesteda currently has 27,000 residential units in the mid-price segment, with most located in the Randstad region, which includes Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Vonovia acquired a 10% stake in French residential-real estate portfolio Fonciere Vesta in 2018.

The company said its portfolio is currently worth around 53.2 billion euros ($59.73 billion).
