zooplus AG reported earnings results for the second quarter and first half of 2013. For the quarter, the company reported a positive EBITDA of EUR 0.5 million compared to LBITDA of EUR 0.9 million. EBT also followed a positive trend and came in at EUR 0.2 million compared to LBT of EUR 1.1 million a year ago. Total sales grew to EUR 101.8 million in the second quarter compared to EUR 78.8 million a year ago. This represents an increase of 31% and 29% respectively over the previous year periods.

On the basis of the first six months, EBITDA was balanced at EUR 0.0 million compared to LBITDA of EUR 0.5 million a year ago. EBT came in at EUR 0.5 million compared to EUR 0.9 million a year ago. The company generated total sales of EUR 198.8 million compared to EUR 152.3 million in the first half of 2013 according to its final figures. Operating cash flow in the first half of 2013 came in at EUR 6.3 million compared to EUR 0.4 million a year ago. This is mainly attributable to an increase in inventories, advanced payments made as well as a strong reduction in trade payables based on specific factors related to the particular balance sheet calendar date.

The company assumes that full year 2013 targets total sales in excess of EUR 400 million and a positive low single-digit million EBITDA will be reached as planned.
