This is a major step toward Viña Concha y Toro's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and reducing its dependence on fossil fuels by 50% in its facilities by 2025.

Viña Concha y Toro has achieved a major milestone, powering the entirety of its operations in Chile, Argentina, and the United States with renewable energy. This goal was reached for the first time in 2022, and will be maintained in the future as part of the company's climate commitments.

Thanks to direct contracts with renewable energy generators in Chile and the United States, the company is supplied directly by clean energy generators. Additionally, Viña Concha y Toro generates electricity through its own solar power plants. Finally, part of the company's energy requirements are met through renewable energy certificates from the San Pedro 3 solar power plant in Chile, which offers international renewable energy certificates (I-RECs) and is certified by Chilean platform Renova. As such, the company has been able to ensure the traceability of its energy supply.

Currently, the company's self-supply of solar energy in Chile accounts for 6% of the holding's total energy use, with 26 solar power plants in the country. Viña Concha y Toro also has two solar power plants in Argentina and one in the United States, reaching a total of 29 across the holding's operations.

Powering 100% of its operations with renewable energy is a key step toward Viña Concha y Toro's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and reducing its dependence on fossil fuels by 50% in its facilities by 2025. To meet its 2025 target, the company must reduce fossil fuel use in boilers and for internal transport within its facilities, primarily through electrification.

"We're proud to have achieved this milestone in our pursuit of and commitment to sustainability and taking care of the environment, in line with the company's social objectives", said Eduardo Guilisasti, CEO of Viña Concha y Toro. "We're taking major steps toward decarbonization and reducing dependence on fossil fuels in order to lower our carbon footprint and lead the way toward a better future for people and the planet", he added.

Sustainability Director, Valentina Lira, ratified the company's short, medium, and long-term commitments, noting that "making progress toward a clean energy matrix without CO2 emissions is key to achieving our climate targets by 2025 or before. For that reason, in 2022 we were able to power 100% of Viña Concha y Toro's operations in its three countries of origin with renewable energy".

This is a further step toward our goal of generating a positive impact wherever the company is present, she added. Lira also highlighted that this milestone is an achievement by the entire holding, which required the involvement of all the company's subsidiaries.
