Sonic Healthcare announced that Dr. Philip Dubois is retiring from his executive position with the company with effect from 30 June 2020. Dr. Dubois will remain on the Sonic Board and therefore be considered a non-executive director from 1 July 2020. Dr. Dubois joined the Sonic group in 2001 as a senior radiologist when Sonic acquired the Queensland X-Ray diagnostic imaging group, of which he was the Managing Partner. He joined the Sonic Board in July 2001 where he has played a significant role in consolidating Sonic's imaging businesses into a cohesive group. At executive level, Dr. Dubois has filled the roles of CEO of Sonic's Imaging Division and Chair of the Sonic Imaging Executive Committee. Dr. Dubois has advised that he will retire from the Sonic Board by the end of his current three- year term (November 2022). His conditions of engagement from 1 July 2020 will be as for Sonic's other non-executive directors. As part of Sonic's succession planning, Dr. Julian Adler has been appointed to the position of CEO, Sonic Imaging. Dr. Adler, a senior radiologist, was previously the CEO of Sonic's Castlereagh Imaging and Illawarra Radiology Group and has been a member of the Sonic Imaging Executive Committee since 2011. From 1 July 2020, Sonic's Board is expected to comprise seven non-executive directors (six of whom are considered independent, including the Chairman), including two medical doctors and a radiologist, and two executive directors, including a pathologist.
